The Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley press conference was full of all the usual name calling and hype as you might expect, and even broke out into, well if not a fight then at least a light scuffle.

There certainly isn't any love lost between Mayweather and Mosley, especially after the former made remarks about Shane's divorce and financial situation.

It has to have been annoying for Mosley as the champion to have taken a back seat during much of the build up. Floyd Mayweather and his cleaning up the sport campaign have taken up much of the spotlight in recent weeks. Which often leads to him waxing lyrical about Manny Pacquiao and the fight that could have been and ignoring his actual opponent altogether.

Part of the appeal of the fight undoubtedly is that the winner might go on to face the Filipino divisional king later on in the year. Meaning that for many fans both this fight and Pacquiao's clash with Joshua Clottey in a couple of weeks are equally important. Yesterday though the spotlight was firmly placed on Mosley and Mayweather and their obvious dislike of each other, and Floyd resisted going off topic until towards the end of the presser.

Despite thier animosity they traded rather toothless barbs at the press conference though, including such vicious attacks as insulting each others choice of suit. Equally bad suits aside there was then the usual posturing about who has the most money, all fascinating stuff and part and parcel of many fights.

The actual scuffle between the two though looked rather rehearsed and a little badly acted for a real conflict. The pair exchanges light shoves and Mosley at one point grabbed Floyd by the sleeves. It was hardly Mike Tyson and Lennow Lewis or the infamous obscenity filled speech given by Tyson afterward.

Peter Spiegeil, Pittsburgh PA: "With both of them being Golden Boy fighters, the fight was probably staged. Mosley seems pretty laid back usually, and Floyd only likes to fight when he has room to run around"

Tyler Sorrel, Pittsburgh PA: "I don't think Mosley would have agreed to take part in a staged fight, but then again neither fighter tried to throw a punch, so it could have been rehearsed. I don't think they need it to sell tickets though, the fight will probably be the biggest of the year either way"

Well it wouldn't be the first time a promoter has arranged a little extra drama to take place at a press conference, and scuffling is out of character for both fighters. It was also a little suspicious that neither threw a punch and that the entourages of both weren't that quick to jump in like they usually are when the bare fists start to fly.
