Mayweather / Mosley - Let the Hype Begin
Mayweather vs Mosley
New England Boxing Examiner | Peter Czymbor
After hearing all the talk about how last Saturday's Bernard Hopkins - Roy Jones rematch could compare to Ali - Frazier III or Leonard - Hearns II, it'll be nice to get a little boxing promotion that isn't so forced down our throats with the debut of HBO's Mayweather / Mosley 24/7 this Saturday.
While the Hopkins - Jones foul fest made the fight between England's David Haye and Massachusetts' native John Ruiz seem like a fight of the year candidate earlier in the afternoon, Mayweather - Mosley has all the things fight fans look for in a megafight.
1) Two stars coming off excellent performances.
2) Two superb fighters who both have a chance of beating each other.
3.) Two men who has disdain for each other and will settle their differences in the ring.
Hopkins - Jones has number 3 on that list, but judging by the just over 6,000 fans that showed up (to a heavily papered) Las Vegas arena, no one really seemed to care anymore.
Mayweather has the gift of gab and the boxing skills to back it up. Mosley is usually more reserved, but has gotten louder in recent years...especially when it comes to Mayweather.
Floyd beatdown Juan Manuel Marquez over 12 lopsided rounds in his last fight, Mosley stunningly TKO's Antonio Margarito.
Let the hype begin with this Saturday's 24/7.
