No news is good news with Mayweather/Mosley testing
Mayweather vs Mosley
Pittsburgh Fight Sports Examiner | Scott Heritage
It has been speculated recently by several reporters that the results of the initial tests taken by Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley are being kept secret.
The USADA have apparently received samples of both blood and urine from both fighters at least once and will continue to do so leading up to the fight at random intervals.
The NSAC have yet to receive access to all of the results, but the fact that nothing has been made public isn't necessarily a sign of anything suspicious.
Its easy to tent to think along the lines of the Teddy Atlas 'secret source' incident in that the results might be kept secret regardless of the results. Or at least until after the fight anyway.
If either man had tested positive for anything, especially this far out though, the fight would probably have been called off already. In fact this would actually benefit Floyd Mayweather, although of course he would lose the big payday that Mosley would bring.
If Mosley had tested positive, Mayweather's behavior in initiating the extra testing would have suddenly been validated. Similarly he would have a lot more fuel to demand fully random testing from his Filipino nemesis, Manny Pacquiao.
Not only this but far from looking like he was playing negotiation head games or as if he was looking for an excuse to get out of fights he didn't want, his crusade would seem genuine.
So given that nothing has been made public or been heard, there is almost certainly nothing to report other than that both fighters have been found clean as a whistle.
The real controversy about the testing process isn't that nothing has been heard as of yet. Firstly the under card fighters don't seem to be under the same kind of rules as the headlining fighters. Surely if Golden Boy were really on side with Mayweather they would extend his testing campaign to the rest of the fight card as well.
Juan, Pittsburgh: "I bet they aren't even doing any testing, the whole thing was probably just some kind of gimmick to get FraudWeather out or the Pacquiao fight"
Henry, Harrisburg: "Neither is going to test positive for anything, neither looks like they use HGH and Mosley wouldn't dare use steroids anymore. He needs the money"
Stephan, Pittsburgh: "The results are being told to the people who need to know the results. Besides if they are giving the results to the NSAC then they are hardly going to keep them secret until after the fight. Otherwise what's the point of having them in the first place?"
