MAYWEATHER VS. MOSLEY: THE MOMENT OF TRUTH
Mayweather vs Mosley
By John Herndon | April 26, 2010
There have been many great fighters and the conventional wisdom is that every great fighter has had a career-defining fight; a fight in which he has had to dig deep and search in that secret place within his soul to prevail against another great fighter of equal skill and will…to be placed in history…to be considered one of the boxing immortals. On Saturday night, the moment of truth will find Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley having a more common goal with each other than anyone else in the world: to purposefully inflict bodily harm on their opponent before he can do the same.
It has been said that you cannot hide who you are inside the ring, for boxing is the ultimate truth. You can only prepare for what lies ahead. The fire has been stoked after months of pain, suffering and sacrifice. Ten years they have waited to embrace this moment. They will look across the ring and wait for the bell to ring and embrace the moment of truth, to ask questions of each other and wait to see if either can answer them. They will try imposing their skill and tear away the will of the other man.
For Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley, the moment of truth to cement their legacy by defeating another great fighter is looming.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
