Floyd Mayweather again has the boxing media in a spin with his latest disparaging remarks about Manny Pacquiao and his place at the top of the sport.

Taking his comments on face value, it might seem like the same rhetoric Mayweather comes out with on a pretty regular basis to keep his name in the news and to fuel his possible fight with Pacquiao.

Reading between the lines though, this latest batch of comments might actually be encouraging for Pacquiao fans. No I haven't taken one to many blows to the head, hear me out.

If Floyd really believes what he says, and obviously it's a matter of speculation as to whether he even thinks about what comes out of his mouth let alone believes it, then he saw something Saturday night. Something that he thinks he can use to beat Pacquiao.

Rightly or wrongly, if Floyd believes he can come up with a strategy to dethrone the pound for pound king, then the fight is a lot more likely to happen. It also makes a strong case for Floyd to drop his testing demands and let the commissions do their jobs. For Floyd to step up and declare he can beat Pacquiao with or without extra testing would also go some way to regaining some of the fans he lost during the negotiations for the first fight.

After all by Floyd's logic, if Pacquiao was exposed when fighting Clottey, which he presumably thinks was a performance under the influence of performance enhancing drugs, then surely they aren't that much of a factor.

Even given that Mayweather's suspicions are baseless, a level playing field is irrelevant if you think you can win easily anyway. If Pacquiao is one dimensional as Mayweather says, then there isn't any kind of drug that will make him otherwise.
